The Electricité du Liban announced that following the withdrawal of the main 66 kV substation in Marjayoun from service on 5/28/2026 after the failure of the main Abdel-Al-Marjayoun 66 kV transmission line. A high-voltage tower was destroyed due to Israeli attacks near the station, in addition to other faults in the towns of Yahmar and Qalia in the Western Bekaa. She continued: The Electricité du Liban is pleased to announce to citizens that, as a result of the tireless efforts it made with the Lebanese Army and the International Red Cross, and over a week of continuous maintenance work carried out by our technical teams, it was able this afternoon to restore electrical power to the main substation in Marjayoun, which supplies large areas of the Marjayoun and Hasbaya districts. She added: The Foundation thanks the army leadership and the International Red Cross for their support and cooperation to accomplish this mission in harsh conditions and imminent risks, which our technical teams gratefully endured. The Corporation informed the citizens of the Tyre district that the Corporation's technical teams had, since this morning, June 18, 2026, begun maintenance work with the support of the Lebanese Army on the route of the Tire-Wadi Gilo 66 KV line, where the work is expected to be completed and that power will be restored to the Wadi Gilo main station within the next two days, after which maintenance and rehabilitation work will be completed on the Wadi Gilo Sultaniya 66 KV line. The Electricité du Liban confirmed that it will provide the people of the south with any new information in this regard as soon as new data is available.
